The high lift on the Gator Mulcher draws the grass up, giving it a clean, even cut Other mulching blades push grass down, often resulting in an uneven, ragged cut. The high lift also makes using the Gator Mulcher in bagging operations an excellent choice. You get the look of a bagged lawn while reducing clippings by up to 5O%.
How do the teeth work?
While it may appear that the raised teeth are for cutting, they don't cut the grass at all. It is the angle of the tooth that produces the excellent mulching results. The teeth angle toward the center of the blade to redirect the airflow and push the grass clippings back over the cutting edge of the mower blade again and again. At a maximum blade tip speed of 19,000 FPM the same grass clipping moves across the cutting edge an average of 4 times, resulting in a superior mulch. The teeth on other mulching blades angle out-from the blade, directing the clippings away from the blade's cutting edge, resulting in much larger clippings.
Is the Gator Mulcher right for my mower?
On standard mowers, the Gator Mulcher works best on multi-blade decks, particularly when mowing into the discharge. Mulching adapter kits are not required. For single blade applications we recommend installing a mulching kit for best results, but you will see significant mulching action even without an adapter. Gator Mulcher blades will enhance the performance of any mulching mower, single or multi-blade.
Under what conditions will the Gator Mulcher perform best?
The Gator Mulcher works best when removing about an 1 1/2 in. of grass, however many cutters have had success in much longer grass. The Gator Mulcher also performs extremely well in sandy conditions. For fall leaf cleanup, nothing works better. Leaves are reduced to a powder, so bagging or vacuuming is not required.
How do I sharpen a Gator Mulcher blade?
The teeth on the Gator Mulcher do not cut the grass, so sharpening them isn't required. Simply sharpen your GatorMulcher as you would any standard mower blade.
Is there a Gator Mulcher blade for my mower?
We offer Gator Mulchers for both residential and commercial mowers specifically designed for the most popular mower applications.
What about blade quality?
Gator Mulcher blades are made in the U.S. from the finest American made high carbon 10B38 steels. The cutting edges are carbide milled for a super sharp edge. Every blade is fully heat-treated to a Rockwell C-scale hardness of 50 for optimum safety and durability, then straightened for a precision cut.
A Little About Us
I was looking for a new career opportunity when I stumbled on an ad for a tractor and ZTR mower dealership that was for sale. We talked it over, thought it would be a good fit, as it turns out, it was.
Hi, I'm Tim Bradshaw and along with my wife, Melissa and our son Brodie, we are the owners of Sutton Tractor & Equipment in Tulsa. We purchased this dealership from the Sutton family in September 2019. We've been going hard ever since.
We live on acreage in Inola. We know what it is to work the land and take care of livestock. It's hard work. Knowing the work it takes to run a big cow/calf operation or even a hobby farm, enables us to put ourselves in the customer's shoes.
In my past profession I worked for a manufacturing facility as an Engineer. Melissa worked for a large aerospace company in the accounting department. And although Melissa didn't come on board until the summer of 2021, she has been an integral part of the day to day operations. Melissa handles all the accounting and payroll for the dealership. Brodie, our son is now a freshman at Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina, Ks. Brodie works for us in the summer months in sales, parts and even in the service department.
We've seen a few changes over the last five years. The COVID pandemic, the state of the economy and even the weather has shaped and sometimes even altered the way we had to run our business. But one thing remains a constant her at Sutton Tractor, the management and staff is committed to our customers and to making the purchase process as stress free and enjoyable as we can. Our sole goal is to put you in the right tractor or mower for your needs. To match you with the piece of equipment that will do what you need it to do. We won't try to sell you on something you don't want or need.
We sell Massey Ferguson tractors, Bad Boy, Hustler and Ferris ZTR mowers along with American Landmaster UTVs and Stihl products.
If you're considering a new tractor or mower this season, stop by and let me show you what we have.
Here to help you grow it, here to help you mow it...we're here to help.
